As it turns out, I may have overestimated myself. While I’ve been trying to make this twice-weekly thing work, other aspects of life are now making it rather difficult for me to hit that target. So this week, instead of fiction or non-fiction, I’d like to hear from you, dear reader. At least some of you are people I know personally, who can always get in touch with me through texts, calls, or e-mails. And if you’re not one of these people, you can still message or e-mail me through this newsletter.
One of the most important reasons why I started writing on Substack was the community aspect, the ability to talk directly to you, my readers, and hear back from you about what you want to say and read. So that’s what this is, me asking to hear what you think. It’s cold in the void and your voices can make all the difference.
So please, let me know if you’ve been enjoying this publication or if you have something you’d like to see more of. Or, for that matter, if there’s something you want to see less of. The floor’s open, and to make it a bit easier, I’m going to try out Substack’s polling feature right here:
Also, as you may have gathered from the opening paragraph, I’m revisiting my publishing schedule so here’s another poll to help with that:
And now, because I want to give you something fun, here’s a preview of this Saturday’s story, picking up from Corpse and Robbers and The Seven Husbands of Freya Grimm:
COMING THIS WEEK
I was lost, floundering in an unending sea of black, a formless, shapeless presence floating in the void. Out of that oppressive night came a crimson moon, rising from the darkness like Venus from the waves. Transfixed, I watched as a golden dragon appeared, wrapping itself around the moon, a shimmering halo around its scarlet brilliance.
Then the world trembled and there came a voice. I knew instinctively, the way you know things in a dream, that it was the voice of the great god Ra, the First Pharaoh and Almighty God of the Sun. And the voice said:
“AAAAAAAAAUUOOUH!”
See you all on Saturday for the rest of the story!
