Important Update: Stardust Press is now called
.
Good evening,
I realise it might not be evening when you read this but it seemed an appropriate greeting. It sets the mood nicely for what’s to come.
I’ve always been a fan of all things spooky, weird, and bizarre. Very soon, I’ll be channelling that love into a new project with
, a new cooperative fiction newsletter. Starting in August 2024, Stardust Press will be bringing you four monthly serials written by , , , and myself. You can read all four of our serials on Stardust Press for free, but there’s also the option of a paid subscription that I would very much recommend you take. For one thing, paid subscribers will eventually gain access to past and future releases of traditional novels. More importantly, resident authors at Stardust Press (myself included) get an equal share of all earnings.
Did you do it? Thank you very much. Now that you’ve shown your selfless support for independent community-driven literature, it is my pleasure to introduce…
Frank Nevers and Cleo Moon in “The Exham Project”
The Exham Project is a standalone sequel to Masquerade, my very first serialized story on Substack. The new serial takes Frank and Cleo, the protagonists from Masquerade, in a strange new direction as they work as agents of the mysterious Exham Project. Here’s the blurb I put together for the story:
There are monsters in this world and otherworldly phenomena that can drive one to insanity. Luckily, that's where Frank Nevers and Cleo Moon come in. Join Frank and Cleo in this sci-fi horror mystery serial as they investigate bizarre supernatural cases on behalf of the shadowy Exham Project. It's Lovecraft meets Doctor Who, with witty protagonists facing off against dark forces pulled from the pages of classic literature.
Can You Read The Exham Project Without Reading Masquerade?
Yes, you can. The Exham Project is going to be a completely new story that’s only loosely connected to Masquerade. In fact, the plan is for The Exham Project to be a monster-of-the-month procedural, with every episode telling a complete story. If you’re very nice, I might even let you pick the monster.
Now if you do want to read Masquerade, I’m not going to stop you. You can find the full story (and the Thorfinn Grimm mysteries) on my index page.
The first episode of The Exham Project will rise from the depths on August 19, 2024, with new episodes following every month.
Thank you for your time.
I loved Masquerade so much, I was hoping to see more of Frank and Cleo. So, this is like a wish come true! Thank you! I can't wait to read more!
Seriously cannot wait for this. Such a great premise that fits your writing style so well!
